Violent crime is a serious reality in Massachusetts and the problem has been
growing for over 50 years.  In 1960, there were 74 murders in Massachusetts.
In 2010 there were 210, an increase of 283% even though the state's population
grew by only 27%.  So the murder rate has been increasing over ten times
faster than the population!   (Click here for more crime statistics.)

During the same period, police budgets have been cut again and again.
Departments are having to find ways to do a lot more with a lot less.

The Massachusetts Guardian Angels regularly patrol the streets in order
to make our communities safer.  But, just like the police, we cannot be
everywhere at once.  We can however make some places safer for some
people, and if it means we save even one life then it is all worth it.  But
the more members we have on patrol, the more places we can be!

JOIN THE GUARDIAN ANGELS today and help us make Massachusetts
a safer place to live, work, and raise our kids.  Click here for more information.
