TO JOIN THE MASSACHUSETTS GUARDIAN ANGELS:

Joining the Angels involves a step-by-step process.  Often, we begin with meeting with new recruits in person, to go out on patrol so that they can see first hand what it is we do.  Naturally, as we are a public safety organization, there is an established process for vetting new members to determine appropriateness for the organization.  Typically this process is as follows:

1.  Meet with the Chapter Leader to discuss joining the Guardian Angels.

2.  Completing applications for membership including a CORI (criminal background) check.  If you are under 18 there is a form your parent or guardian must fill out.  The Chapter Leader can provide you with this application; however,   If you want to get a head start on this, click here for PDF version of complete application including CORI.  If you elect to complete this application in advance you can fax it, mail it, or scan it (PDF format, please) and email it.

3.  If accepted into the Angels, training to include self-defense, CPR, First Aid and proper patrol procedures begins.

Currently we encourage prospective members to contact us via phone or email.  If interested please do so, and we will be in contact with you to move the process forward.

NO LOCAL GUARDIAN ANGEL GROUP IN YOUR TOWN?   Well, you can start one.  If you don't believe you can, guess what -- the Brockton chapter was started by two guys who trained and recruited others.  Now, the Brockton group is at the center of the organization statewide--so never say never!   So if you have the basic ability to put on a beret, have some people skills, and to find some like-minded people who also want to start one, then you can begin patrolling and training.  The Massachusetts Guardian Angels are one single chapter, unified with a singular purpose: to keep cities and towns in the Commonwealth safe.  We are eager to help residents in communities across the state in stepping up to the plate and keeping their neighborhoods safe.  We will help with getting you set up with training and recruitment.  Just follow the steps above to become a member, and you're well on your way.  If you have questions call us or send us email.
